      a.  Look at the following microscope slides:
           1)    Skeletal muscle.  Using figure 18 in the collection of photographs, identify muscle fibers and nuclei.
           2)    Cardiac muscle and intercalated discs.  Using figures 19 and 20 in the collection of photographs, identify muscle fibers, nuclei, and intercalated discs.
           3)    Smooth muscle.  Using figure 21 in the collection of photographs, identify smooth muscle fibers.
        b.  Look at the model of the muscle cell.  Identify and learn the following structures:
